Green Marine AS

 

Green Marine works in all of AS Tallinn Sadam ports, but mostly in cargo ports like Muuga, Paldiski South and Old Ports.

Since 2004, Green Marine AS offers waste management service to its partners. Their purpose is to keep our sea and beaches clean. Green Marine is a public-private-partnership type of company. It was created because of Estonia's accession to the European Union.

While travelling, people always leave a lot of waste behind. The ship itself also produces a lot of waste while working, because of machinery and equipment, separation of marine fuels and other technical services. All hazardous waste needs to be taken safely to land to be recycled.

Hazardous waste

• ·         Photographic chemicals and detergents, batteries and accumulators, lamps.
• ·         Fluorescent and energy saving light oil.
• ·         Solid sludge medicines and other medical waste.

Recyclable packaging

Organic waste, glass, plastic, cardboard and wood need to be sorted separately. Often glass containers are already crushed on board and cardboard and paper are handed over compressed. Modern ships also have special equipment for the treatment of wastewater. Bio waste is collected in containers on ships and stored in a zero-degree facility. All hazardous waste on the ship is separated from other waste.

In the Port of Tallinn, the ship does not have to look for a separate handler for each type of waste. By sending a notice with information about the waste to be handed over before arriving at the port of call, the ship will receive all the necessary services here.

The company has hundreds of box and press containers, many of which travel with ships, tank trucks, pump systems, forklifts and much more to serve ships quickly and conveniently.
