Schools from six European countries (Croatia, Greece, Italy, Cyprus, Portugal and Estonia) are involved in this ERASMUS+ project which focuses on a variety of PORTS, “A place of a collective identity” where everything can start and everything can arrive, where life is punctuated by the cyclical time but also by exceptionality, unexpected, where uses and traditions have developed in the course of the years.

4th meeting- Greece Kefalonia. The second day.

On May 16 we had the pleasure of visiting the school where the Greek students study. Where we were greeted by the headmaster of the school. After that the Greek students gave us a tour of the school building and the classrooms. Then we had a lecture about the biology and math of Caretta caretta. After which we made our own presentations on the topic “Our port is an ecosystem” that were put together before the trip. When we left the school after the presentations we went to have lunch all together. Finished with lunch we had time for ourselves and we got to go and experience the city of Argostoli and its beaches. At about 8 pm all participants went on a walk around the city to see its most beautiful sights that the city had to offer. At the end of the walk we had time to go find ourselves some food and all participating students got to enjoy the evening together. Written by Villiam Visnapu

3rd meeting- Croatia. The fifth day.

March 21, 2022

On the fifth and last day of our meeting in Croatia, we went for a boat ride along the small Glibuša river for a photo shoot. We hoped to take pictures of many animals. However, we only saw some wild ducks and a few hens in their yard. After the long boat ride, we got off of our boats near the museum built on the archeological site of the ancient city of Narona. It was founded by the Greeks and ruled by the Romans for centuries. Nowadays, there is a village where the remains of a big part of Narona are believed to be, so they can't dig it up. After the museum tour, we received our certificates and began our journey home. Written by Diandra

Territories having a port are home to communities and have particular climates and atmosphere. The port is the place of a collective identity. Here everything can arrive and everything can depart or start. Port’s life has its rhythms punctuating the cyclical time, daily, seasonal, and yet it imposes the exceptionality, the sudden and the unexpected. Each port community is unique and in the course of the years has developed uses and traditions that make it similar and different from the others. Today ports are overwhelmed by modernity, as elsewhere plastic replaces the wood, the automation carries more and more pollution, the habitat itself, altered by port activities, collects the blows of a pressing development. Our students aim to explore the various biotic and abiotic environmental parameters of certain ports. At the same time, they intend to record and mark out the various productive port activities, as well as history and culture. Very often, though, human activities disturb the e...
