Meeting in Lecce. Italy.

 Day 1

Our day started at 9:30. We went to the school where was a welcome ceremony. Firstly, Italian students gave us a school tour. We were shocked - the windows were small, you could not sit anywhere in the corridors and the school was a little bit dirty, nothing to compare with Saku. Secondly, we had ice breaking games. Thirdly, Italians splitted us to four groups. We did a group work where everyone gave ideas about “Smart green port”, we drew our ideas on the paper. It was little bit difficult because everyone were shy and not sure what to do. At lunch we ate in the school, we had a mozzarella salad with bread. We were amazed because that was so good - the mozzarella was made on the same morning. In the evening we had a guided city tour, we saw churches, amfi theatre and beautiful places. Also, Estonians won a quiz about the Old town and got a prize. At night we had a party where we danced, had dinner, snacks and drinks. Day 2 We went to Otronto by bus. At first we visited church. After that we had some free time and we all went to the beach. There we played volleyball in the sea, tanned and had a great time together. At lunch we went to the pizza restaurant with Cyprus friends. That was really delicious. Then we had a really nice boat trip - we saw caves, crabs and beautiful places. Also, we swam in the crystal clear sea water, that was an experience to remember. On the boat we got to know each other better and had a good vibe. Day 3 We went to the school at 9:30. We finished our group work. We drew our “Smart green port” ideas on the computer with Paint. After that we did a little presentation about that and teachers voted for the best work. Rebeka’s team won, they had really good ideas and the port looked amazing. Finally, we ate a pizza brunch together and then we had a free time all day long. Pizzas were delicious! Day 4 On Thursday we went to the school at 9.30. We worked on the final product of the 3D model of the SMART GREEN PORT. We glued pieces onto the blue paper and painted a little bit waves on that. It looked like a real port. After that we ate ‘Rustichini’ which was very oily. Then we went to the beach by bus together. The beach was beautiful, but the crystal clear sea water was not that clear. Otherwise, we had a really good time and the views were amazing. After that we had a guided visit to Mura Urbiche. It was quite boring and we were tired from the trip. We had to walk a lot and our feet were sore. Day 5 On the last day the bus left at 7.30 from the hotel. We went to a hiking trail in Salento following the pace of the coast. The views were very pretty. The hike itself was challenging because of the hot weather. It was worth it. After the hike we went swimming to Novaglie Marine. We enjoyed it a lot but the rocks were very sharp. Our favourite part was swimming in the caves. Then we had lunch all together at Tricase’s restaurant. There wasn’t enough food for us and the food itself wasn’t good. Even tho we were already very tired from the day, we had to go to a Tricase port museum. The port looked good, but we were too tired to concentrate. We wanted to go to the hotel so bad. The day ended with a last dinner all together. Dinner was very good and the vibe was amazing. That was a tiring day with lots of different emotions.

  Day started with a bus ride to Dubrovnik, which took about 2 hours. We got a tour around the city with a local guide. After that we had some free time and went shopping for souvenirs. 4th meeting- Greece Kefalonia. The second day.

On May 16 we had the pleasure of visiting the school where the Greek students study. Where we were greeted by the headmaster of the school. After that the Greek students gave us a tour of the school building and the classrooms. Then we had a lecture about the biology and math of Caretta caretta. After which we made our own presentations on the topic “Our port is an ecosystem” that were put together before the trip. When we left the school after the presentations we went to have lunch all together. Finished with lunch we had time for ourselves and we got to go and experience the city of Argostoli and its beaches. At about 8 pm all participants went on a walk around the city to see its most beautiful sights that the city had to offer. At the end of the walk we had time to go find ourselves some food and all participating students got to enjoy the evening together. Written by Villiam Visnapu

4th meeting- Greece Kefalonia. The first day.

   The first day of our project we went to Lixouri. There we visited the Kephalonian fishery - the hatchery. The representative of the company showed us the life cycle of fish and how they feed them. At the end of the tour they gave us beautiful blue caps. After the fishery we went to the center of the city and tried our first Greek coffees. We were there with nice Greek boys and girls. They told us great stories about how they spend their free time in Kefalonia and how their school system works. In the afternoon we went back to Kefalonia and had lunch with the teachers.
