On Sunday 15 a bus trip day at the picturesque “Skala” village was planned
On Monday
16 the teams went to Lixouri, where they visited the Kephalonian fisheries - the hatchery.
On Tuesday 17 all
participants visited the host school in Argostoli. After the welcome
by the headmaster and the teachers a guided visit to the school labs and a lecture on the topic “Biology and maths of
Caretta caretta” took place. The following activity was the presentations by
all schools on the topic “Our port is an ecosystem”. In the evening the teams
had a walk down the city center,
“Lithostroto” street, “Kampana” square, and De Bosset bridge.
On Wednesday 18 teachers and students had a walk down
the Argostoli port they analyzed the water sample and observed the turtles, the
seagulls, and the sailors of the port. After that, they visited the “Merchant
Marine Academy”.
On Thursday 19 One day bus trip was organized with the
following aims: survey the geological phenomena of the island
-Whirlpools, Melissani lacustrine cave, Karavomylos, a subterranean river, a
unique karst formation; visit Drogarati, a cave with fabulous acoustics and
visit Fiscardo, one of the most beautiful and picturesque villages of
the island.
On Friday 20
the teams had an environmental excursion at Ainos Mountain.
